Air Hygiene
International, Inc.. took flight in January 1997, fueled
by the skills and dedication of brothers Quinn Bierman (President)
and Swanson Bierman (Vice-President). The name Air
Hygiene International includes our primary industry focus
(Air), our goal of pollution reduction through testing (Hygiene),
and our aggressive growth strategy (International).
Quinn and Swanson had started working together on
various testing projects in 1994, cultivating a service-oriented
approach toward both clients and regulatory agency personnel. Despite
working from a back bedroom and garage, Air
Hygiene used cutting-edge computer and instrument
technology to perform at a level of excellence typically seen only
in larger stack testing companies.
From the first testing job, Air
Hygiene clearly established itself as a uniquely excellent
niche supplier to the natural gas industry. Located in the center
of the nation's oil and gas reserves, Air
Hygiene began testing natural gas fired engines across
Oklahoma, Kansas, Texas, Missouri, Colorado, and Wyoming. In its
very first year, Air Hygiene
tested over 200 natural gas fired engines with the company's original
mobile
testing laboratory. Air
Hygiene expanded its client base as 1998 approached,
bringing new clients on board while continuing to exceed the expectations
of existing clients.
As new companies joined the growing client list, Air
Hygiene expanded into the utility and refinery industries.
The company added natural gas fired combustion turbine testing (to
meet EPA's 40 CFR Part 60, Subpart GG) to its expanding array of
services. Air Hygiene's
client base continued to grow as the company gained regulatory
expertise in new states, including Michigan, New Mexico, and Arkansas.
Air
Hygiene added its first additional employees
in 1999, relocated to a new office, and built new mobile
testing laboratories to meet the growing demand
of emission testing needs from clients. The company constructed
its first emission testing van to aid with the continuing need for
a self-sufficient mobile testing laboratory that could perform multiple
emission tests. Air
Hygiene also added color printers to each lab
in order to improve service with on-site reporting.
Long-term contracts with large Fortune 500 companies
for multiple sources across the United States fueled Air
Hygiene's growth throughout 1999. Natural gas fired sources
ranging from combustion turbines to heaters remained the company's
primary emission testing sources.
By 2000, Air
Hygiene had grown by over 300 percent. The growth
required another move to a 6,000 square foot office/warehouse. New
power plants using natural gas combustion turbines provided Air
Hygiene's latest growth opportunity. Demand for
turbine testing required an on-site, dedicated emission-testing
lab and skilled testing team. Not only were Air
Hygiene's testers busy in the United States, but
2000 also marked South America as the company's first international
destination.
By the end of 2000, Air
Hygiene had tested over 10,000 sources and grown
from a handful of clients to over 80 corporations in 23 states,
including large international turbine manufacturers, dynamic energy
companies, and large-scale equipment manufacturers. Despite its
enormous growth Air
Hygiene continues to treat every client like
its first, with professional testing services that improve operating
efficiency while meeting state and federal environmental requirements.
As Air
Hygiene launches into its ninth year of business,
our goal remains clear - meet and exceed our clients' expectations.
Each day we help our clients improve their businesses through our
cost-effective, high-quality products and professional services.
