We're accredited! Air Hygiene
has earned accreditation through the State of Louisiana's stringent
and trend-setting Louisiana Environmental Laboratory Accreditation
Program (LELAP).
Louisiana's program has helped raise the bar for stack emission
testing firms (and all environmental laboratories, in general) by
requiring proof of proficiency in the techniques and understanding
of emission testing methods and results.
The accreditation process starts with state-administered proficiency
tests. Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality (LDEQ) personnel
then conduct site visits to study the applicant's practical application
of testing methods on the job. Finally, LDEQ personnel visit each
applicant's offices to observe the company's office policies and
procedures, checking particularly for the more vital controls such
as laboratory procedures manuals, safety equipment and procedures
manuals, and firmly established chain-of-custody procedures. Following
accreditation, the state works to ensure integrity of the program
by requiring updated proficiency test studies every six months.
Air Hygiene has earned accreditation
to test and report stack emissions using the following EPA test
