Air pollution emission testing projects are unique and often
complex. Hence, emission test protocols are an important step in the preparation
for conducting any stack test. In addition, many projects require written notification
to the relevant state agency along with the submittal of a testing protocol for
review and approval prior to site work. Test protocols detail the scope of the
project along with specific methodology, testing QA/QC information, schedules,
logistics, contact information, etc. The test protocol also provides a written
forum for
communication between the state agency, test contractor, and source owner. The
