Greensville Plant

Greensville Generation Facility (2018)

Friday, before Thanksgiving week, 2018, Air Hygiene was given a call by Fluor to request emergency support for compliance testing at the Greensville County Power Station for Dominion near Greensville, VA. There were 3 key challenges. Short notice due to a vendor change needed, request to test three (3) units simultaneously, along with testing on a holiday week. Air Hygiene team responded immediately to provide emergency support. Within 4 hours, Air Hygiene confirmed a team and equipment was assigned and in preparation for the emergency job! Fluor team along with owners and support vendors were amazed at timing and support provided on short notice in such an important situation for them. Team arrived, completed full scope of testing on schedule and successful commissioning of the plant on schedule. Meanwhile, our support team working for turbine vendor Mitsubishi, also was on-site providing support for manufacturer as well. Utilizing five mobile test laboratories located across the plant testing for each gas turbine exhaust (monitoring: NOx, CO, THC/VOC, and O2), stack exhaust (monitoring: NOx, CO, THC/VOC, SO2, NH3, H2SO4, PM10, Opacity, CO2, and O2) simultaneously, along with turbine exhaust testing pre-HRSG, and a mobile FTIR truck for measuring HAPS with FTIR for on-site data was provided. The Greensville testing is just one example of Air Hygiene providing rush, emergency, holiday testing for multiple units. No matter how diverse or complicated the situation, Air Hygiene has the tools to provide the right solution.
